5 Most Important Elements of an Opt-In Page

The opt-in page, or squeeze page, is a powerful free marketing tool that helps you connect with your target customers. With an opt-in list of subscribers, you can get your message directly to customers without expensive marketing methods. It’s important that you can get visitors to your marketing website to sign up to your list within the opt-in page. Keep in mind the 5 most important elements of an opt-in page to successfully populate your opt-in list.

The Layout

The overall look of your opt-in page should not distract the visitor from what you want him to do: sign up to your list. Keep the page short, with minimal scrolling required. Don’t add any other ads or links out of your opt-in page, aside from the button that sends your visitors’ information to your autoresponder.

The Headline

A strongly worded headline is crucial to draw the attention of your opt-in page’s visitors to read your message and to ultimately fill out the form and sign up to your list. Visually, it has to be eye-catching. The use of bright colors, especially red, gives the impression that what follows is crucial to the reader. Content is also important. Headlines should present the main benefit that the reader will get in exchange for reading through the page and opting-in to your list. This can be the most important value of your product, or your e-book that the user will receive, or how an important problem he has will be solved by what you are offering.

The Benefits List

The benefits list should consist of what your visitors stand to gain by signing up at the end of the opt-in page. They will be more inclined to exchange their email address and personal information for something that will be useful for them. This shouldn’t be a features list of your product or chapter list of your e-book. This section should tout what specific benefits your product or e-book is offering to your reader. Keep in mind what your potential customers need.

The Call to Action

There is only one call to action for an opt-in page: fill out the form and click the button to subscribe to your opt-in list. Even with a form in a prominent position of your page, it is still important to directly tell your opt-in page’s visitors to actually fill in the form. Reiterate this action and remind them of the valuable offers that they will get in exchange for their contact information. You can also offer additional incentives if they sign up.

The Opt-In Box

This element contains the actual forms that the visitor has to fill in to subscribe to your opt-in list. It is best that the information you request will be the bare minimum relevant information for you to be able to give your subscribers what they need. This should include:

* Subscriber’s first and last name

* Email address

* Preferred mail format (HTML or text)

You can also ask for a few more details like age, gender, hobbies, and the like, but only if they relate to the intended purpose of your product. Make sure that the button to click for sending their information is also eye-catching.

With a properly designed opt-in page, you will see more visitors converted into subscribers and customers. You will be able to extend the reach of your marketing efforts for the future products that you will offer. You will have an automatic list of potential customers who are already familiar with your products and will be interested in your future offers. Although it’s potentially time-consuming, a properly designed opt-in page will lead to increased sales and wider client reach.

So In this video you are going to learn 3 of 21 Top Things someone should know in order to be successful in Affiliate Marketing Part 1 …

Three Common Affiliate Mistakes

In this article, we are going to address three of the most common mistakes affiliate marketers make when starting out. This does not mean that these are the only mistakes made or that they are exclusive. Marketing both offline and online is a continuous learning process and mistakes are all part of that process.

It is assumed at this time that you are fully aware of what affiliate marketing is all about and equally what it is not about. Just to clarify the point it is not a push button; get rich quick system, in spite of what the marketing gurus tell you. It does also require quite a bit of input, usually disguised as work.

So with the groundwork cleared let’s dive into our topic of the day.

First Mistake: Wrong Choice Of An Affiliate Product.

Most beginners are very enthusiastic about an affiliate business and see it as an easy way for making quick money and living the dream lifestyle. Sadly this is where most beginners fall by the wayside. They dive in without any proper plan or without having taken the time to review the affiliate markets.

More often than not they hear or see that XYZ product is booming and jump on the bandwagon to hopefully cash in. What they don’t realize is that once a product has become highly popular in the media then it is already well covered by the sellers online and you will be extremely lucky if you can make any worthwhile income from such a product.

When starting out it is much better to choose a product that is popular in an evergreen market or niche. If you are not familiar with the term then “evergreen” refers to an item that will sell all year, is not dependent upon seasonal trends and sells year in year out.

This may sound very simplistic, however, the reality of finding such a product is not so simple.

So how do you go about finding this evergreen product?

Well, you will need to do some serious research. I would recommend if you were just starting out, to pick a product that appeals to you. You will be more enthusiastic to research a product that appeals to you rather than some vague product that might make the grade. Word of caution here you will need to ensure there is a reasonable market for your product, don’t engage in obscure niches that only have limited numbers of interested people.

Second Mistake: Trying To Run Too Many Affiliate Programs.

This is always a temptation for newbies. The thinking goes along these lines, “If I can make $50.00 per month from one affiliate product then I could be super rich, in no time, if I have, 50 affiliate products.”

This may be an eventual long-term goal, however, the simple answer here is that you definitely need to learn to walk before your can run. Multiple affiliate programs can drain both your energy and resources, leaving you totally disillusioned with the whole process. It’s also worth remembering that not all affiliate products will give you the financial return you expect.

Best advice here is to focus on one affiliate product, make all your mistakes at this stage and then if it is successful and only then, move on to your second product.

Another suggestion for newbies is to ensure the affiliate product you sign up to offers a good realistic commission. This will vary dependent upon the product you choose e.g. digital products on ClickBank offer very high commissions, 40% to 80% is quite common whereas physical products on Amazon may only offer 8%. Due diligence is required prior to signing up for any affiliate program.

Third Mistake: Not Being A Customer First.

This is really a classic; the number of wannabe affiliate marketers who just sign up and promote a product or service without actually trying the product or service is mind-boggling.

Now before we go any further it has to be said that it’s not possible or even practical to purchase and review all products and this would be correct. After all if you are promoting large products or expensive services such as “white goods” or insurance policies you could not purchase every item to evaluate and review it.

However you should at the minimum order and review any eBook or digital product that it is reasonable to do so and when it comes to large products then you should at least make an effort to physically examine the make and model in a local store.

Your sole purpose as an affiliate is to convince potential customers that what you are promoting has all of your trust and is totally credible. If you think about it, when you are in a store and the salesman provides information on a particular product that you are interested in, then you expect that salesperson to be totally knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the benefits and features of that product. In other words, the store will have ensured their sales staff are totally conversant with the products, otherwise they wouldn’t sell anything.

Most customers are pretty shrewd and can pick up on a genuine sales pitch and equally spot insincerity and indifference straight away.

You have been warned; ignore these common pitfalls at your peril.

Which Affiliate Program To Choose?

Our article today is concerned with an age-old problem when setting up in the Internet marketing affiliate business. So many affiliate sites to choose from, so many platforms and just so many questions that need to be answered before you commit.

These are just some of the queries that people raise; this list is just a sample to give you some idea of what is involved.

Which platform provider do I use, ClickBank, JVZoo etc.?
How much will it cost to join and set up my account?
How will I get paid my commissions?
Who will pay my commissions?
How often will I get paid?
What is the minimum percentage commission payment?
Will I have to buy the product first?
Is it a one tier or two tier program?
How do I track my sales and commissions?
What does all the affiliate terminology mean?
As you can see this is just a small selection and we will try to answer most of them as best we can. If there is one good piece of advice to be offered at this time it would be to go online and purchase some good affiliate eBook primers. There are many available online, just Google and appropriate term and you will be provided with a big list of available material.

Now we will try to answer some of the above basic questions raised.

Which platform provider do I use, ClickBank, JVZoo etc.?

There are many online affiliate marketing providers and the final choice is for you to make. However it has to be said the main players such as ClickBank, JVZoo and the like, provide a complete service and have reputations second to none.

How much will it cost to join and set up my account?

Virtually all of the main affiliate program providers are free to join and unless you have a specific reason for making a payment then there should be no reason why you have to hand over your hard-earned money to a provider.

How will I get paid my commissions?

There is no specific answer to this except to say that if you sign up with one of the main providers then they will provide all of the necessary information in their terms and conditions. If you choose a program provider that does not clearly provide this information then do take care, there are some very unscrupulous people out there; you have been warned.

Who will pay my commissions? How often will I get paid? What is the minimum percentage commission payment?

These three queries are once again usually covered in the program provider’s terms and conditions.

Will I have to buy the product first?

No, it’s not necessary to buy the product first but if you are serious about selling affiliate products then you should make every effort to familiarize yourself with the product and this will often mean buying the product.

As a side note, many sellers will provide you with a free copy or at the very least a free sample of their product. This would only apply to reasonable value digital products or small disposable type physical products. You won’t be getting a 63 inch LED television as a freebie.

Is it a one tier or two tier program? How do I track my sales and commissions? What does all the affiliate terminology mean?

These last three, along with numerous other technical queries e.g. “hits per ratio, what does it mean? – does the vendor pay for hits and impressions? – who supplies support?” All of these queries can be answered by utilizing the available online resources and doing your due diligence prior to becoming a full-time affiliate marketer. This doesn’t mean you have to do all of this before you start your affiliate business but do make sure it is an ongoing regular practice.

The online rules of affiliate marketing are constantly evolving, which is one the things that makes it such an exciting business. It’s your sole responsibility to keep yourself informed and up to date with all of the changes.

This is just a sample of questions you may want to ask before jumping into an affiliate marketing business. Don’t be afraid to contact the affiliate program provider and ask pertinent questions. All of the top tier programs have 24/7 support desks and are happy to answer your concerns, after all your business is good for their business.

30 Quick Tips for Online Success

The internet allows many of us an opportunity at success that we may otherwise never have had. There are countless ways to make money online but there is a lot to learn as well. Unfortunately many of us will fail because we just get lost in all the information and aspects of running an online business. Below are some quick tips to give you a head start on your way to success!

Build Relationships – Take the time to establish a connection with your potential customers. People need to know and trust you before they will buy from you.

Get More Involved with Social Media – Using social media is a great way to connect with people and start building the relationship. Choose a few good social sites and start participating and sharing information, resources, etc. Don’t spread yourself too thin.

Write Guest Posts and Articles – Content is very important for your marketing campaign. Write blog posts and submit them to various blogs that target your business idea. For instance, if you sell furniture you don’t want to post on blogs that teach people how to paint. You want targeted traffic so go where people looking for furniture would go.

Build Backlinks – Backlinks can help get you a higher ranking in the search engines as well as getting you more direct traffic. Be sure to watch where you get your link posted. The search engines go by the rule, “guilty by association,” so stick with quality sites with no “questionable” content.

Publish a Newsletter – Newsletters are a good way to form relationships with people so they will buy from you. Offer quality information, interaction and be consistent. Try adding a little fun as well. A trivia game or something similar with a prize for the winner can work well.

Optimize Your SEO – Research keywords, write good headlines and titles, read up on SEO and optimize your site for those search engine spiders.

Use Google Analytics – Using Google Analytics is a good way to study your traffic. Learn where they come from, when they come, how long they stay, which pages make them leave, etc. All this information will help you maximize your site’s effectiveness.

Call-to-Action – Order Now, Sign-Up Here, Click Here, Call Now… these are all calls to action. Be sure yours is prominent and really urges your visitor to take action. Colorful well-designed buttons can make your call-to-action much more effective.

Exit Ads – Exit ads or floating ads or ads with other similar names can grab your visitor at the last minute. Make sure the offer in the ad will compel them to sign-up or follow the call-to-action. In that last second as they are leaving your site, you have one last chance to capture them.

Offer Incentives – Sometimes people just need a reason to get them to take action. Offering a free gift or valuable information can get them to sign-up or take the next step.

Answer Email Inquiries Promptly – I have emailed so many online businesses and never received an answer. This always baffles me. How can you expect to run a business if you ignore inquiries, comments and feedback. ALWAYS answer emails as quickly as possible. This immediately builds up the person’s confidence and trust in you.

Use Surveys – Surveys are a great way to find out what your visitors think of your site, your offers, products, services, etc. This gives you crucial information and let you know what changes, if any need to be made.

Interact with Your Visitors – Allow people to comment on your site or have some type of form for people to leave messages. Answer these messages or comments promptly and encourage others to post as well. Interaction is a key to building relationships.

Don’t Forget the Follow-Up – Once you have made the initial contact with a person, be sure to follow up in a reasonable time. Follow-ups can reignite the person’s interest in your business and can increase sales dramatically.

Joint Ventures – Contact other blog owners, online merchants with complementary businesses and see how you can help each other by cross-promoting. Do an ad swap, post each other’s content, etc. The possibilities are endless.

Build a Community – Start a networking group and build a community of people who could benefit from your expertise or business. This is a very effective method of building relationships.

Toot Your Own Horn – Don’t be shy about advertising your accomplishments. By doing this, you will show your visitors/readers you know what you are talking about and the confidence and trust will skyrocket.

Brand Yourself – Branding your self means to create a memorable and unique image, name or symbol that will instantly make people think of you and your business. Define your brand, create a logo, create your message with an effective tagline and get started branding yourself.

Network Offline – You can market offline for your online business. Join business groups, attend networking events, participate in community events, and donate to local events. These are all great ways to spread the word about your online business.

Listen to Your Customers – Whether your customers have positive or negative things to say you must listen to them and take them seriously. Take any necessary action to rectify the situation. Let your customers know that what they say is very important to you.

Simple and User-Friendly – Be sure your site has a clean simple design. Make it easy for people to find their way around. Do not add a lot of flashy ads, music or other distracting items.

Always Be Updating – Be sure to add fresh content to your site regularly. Always check your site for dead links, outdated ads, etc. Update your design when necessary. Keep your site fresh and alive.

Video Marketing – Well-made videos can do a lot for your business. Capture your audience’s attention in the first few seconds so they continue to watch. Make the video short and to the point. Use visuals for more effect. Talk with clarity and don’t try to impress people with big words.

Hold Contests and Other Events – Contests, networking events, online parties, etc., are good ways to draw people to your site. Announce your events through your social media and offer points or incentives for people who share your posts to their friends and followers.

Provide Ongoing Support – Always provide support to your customers. Once they make the purchase and the money is paid, they might still need you if they have questions or concerns. Do not abandon them once you get their money.

Privacy Policy – Let people know you value their privacy and do not sell or give away their information. Give your privacy policy its own page and make it easy to find.

Contact Information – Please offer your contact information in an easy to find place on your site. Not letting people know how to contact you is a grave mistake and could lose you tons of potential customers.

Opt-In Forms – Place opt-in forms in various prominent places on your website. Be sure to offer incentive for people to sign up for your mailing list.

Affiliate Programs – Adding a few good affiliate programs to your website can help you earn extra money to help make your business a success. ClickBank is a good place to start and there are many others as well. Try searching for affiliate program directories to help you find more options.

Do Not Give Up – Giving up is one of the reasons so many online businesses fail. People get frustrated and decide to quit. Becoming a success takes a great commitment and you have to give it time. It will not happen in a week or a month. Be persistent and do not give up!

Starting and building a successful online business can be done but take the time to research and do your homework. There are a lot of scammers out there who prey on people’s desire for success. I have heard many stories of this happening with me included. Be careful and be successful!

7 Ways That Internet Marketing Forums Can Make You Rich

Let me cut right to the chase here. I love internet marketing forums. Why? It’s simple, really. They’re like a living, breathing, fully interactive, completely up-to-date marketing course that you never have to pay for. You can ask questions, get multiple viewpoints, and gain exposure to some really dynamite resources that you would have otherwise never known about.

In fact, in this article I will be presenting you with 7 of my favorite benefits that anyone can enjoy when they simply become an active participant in an internet marketing forum. If you want to stop being on the outside looking in and start really gaining the knowledge, skills, resources, and connections that it takes to truly be a success online, then I know this list is going to excite you!

7 Ways That Internet Marketing Forums Can Make You Rich:

1. Quickly Separate Fact From Fiction – There is a lot of conflicting information and advice out there when it comes to what really works and what doesn’t work. Additionally, there is a lot of outdated information regarding strategies that were once effective, but that no longer work at all.

Through forum participation, you can learn from people who are succeeding in the current IM landscape. You will be presented with points and counterpoints so that you can make an informed decision without having to implement a lot of time-sucking trial and error.

2. Learn the Fundamentals – There are always skills that need to be learned and mastered in this crazy online marketing world of ours. Even the best and most experienced marketers need to be reminded of the most basic things, from certain keyword research criteria to centering an image with HTML. You can always find these useful tidbits within a forum.

3. Promote Your Product or Service – Do you write articles, provide content, create graphics, or produce videos? Do you have an eBook or membership site? Well what better place to promote these things than in a forum full of people who need them? You can simply advertise your offering(s) in your signature, or create a WSO (Warrior Special Offer – Warrior Forum) and make a killing just from these things alone.

4. Gain Leads – Building on the last point, you can also turn your fellow forum members into email subscribers by either providing them with something for free, or adding them to your buyer’s list once you’ve sold them something of value. List building is widely regarded as the single most valuable thing you can do for your online business, and internet marketing forums are a goldmine of fresh, targeted leads.

5. Form Partnerships – Do you want to explode the size of your email list? Are you looking for affiliates to promote your next big product launch or WSO? Do you need investors for your next big idea? There is simply no better place to find JV partners than in an internet marketing forum.

6. Hire Freelancers – If you’re too busy, unskilled, or just plain disinterested in a certain task to spend your own time doing it, then there are always folks who are willing to do it for you. You can find freelancers to handle virtually any online task you can possibly need, from eBook creation to video production to blog posting to building backlinks to your website.

7. Enjoy a Sense of Community and Support – While this final benefit may not seem all that sexy at first glance, let me ask you a question. Is your spouse an internet marketer? Is ANYONE in your family or immediate circle of friends an online marketer? Chances are, you’re lucky if you personally know even one other person in this business.

Top Ten Tips – Choosing An Affiliate Network To Promote

There are so many affiliate programs and networks available that it can be a veritable minefield when it comes to choosing a suitable product to promote. Hopefully in this article we will be able to provide you with some useful tips for choosing your affiliate network or program.

1. Paper Sift:

Our first tip is to list and paper sift potential networks and products. This is easily done by making a long list of prospects and just deleting anything that looks remotely amateurish, unprofessional or downright dubious. This will provide you with a viable shortlist.

2. Hobbies & Interests:

When starting out as an affiliate marketer it is often best to choose a product to promote that you have an interest in. This could be a hobby a work related product or anything that sparks your interest. The real main advantage here is your enthusiasm for the product will be at an all-time high.

3. Quality:

This is linked to the first tip, but here you will be carrying out a more in-depth analysis of the network and its product. Quality always sells and the price is not usually a problem; this is great for commissions.

4. Referrals & Reviews:

Before you sign up or take on any affiliate product do some due diligence. Go online and do some initial research, check out the forums, blogs, look at reviews from other affiliates etc. If there is anything negative to be said about a network then you can be sure it will be mentioned repeatedly online.

5. Market Growth:

This one is not always so easy to predict. Try to associate yourself with products that are current and have the potential to grow. Such products will be welcomed and promoted by the better networks. Old outdated and products of poor quality will not appear in the top networks.

6. Residual Income:

You want to be well rewarded for your efforts as an affiliate marketer, so don’t consider any program that offers no residual income or a residual income that doesn’t compensate you for your time and effort.

7. Pyramid Schemes:

Be very careful of joining networks or programs that offer multi-tier commission payments. Some of these may be perfectly legitimate as MLM (Multi Level Marketing) is a recognized business practice, however there are many “red ribbon” type packages that promise the earth but require you to fill someone else’s bank account before you receive any payment. Products associated with such schemes are also usually of inferior quality. With such networks, you may have to fill minimum quotas before getting paid anything, just be very careful.

8. Resources:

It’s very important that you select a network or vendor who will be able to provide you with as many tools and resources as are necessary for you to promote the product or service. This will include sales letters, banners, possibly product training videos etc. The better networks and product vendors all go out of their way to provide you with as much help as possible, after all it’s in their best interest.

9. Customer Service:

This one is very important. Does your network or vendor provide customer service? Large networks will be able to provide ongoing 24/7 customer service, but smaller vendors will only be able to provide simple email backup which will probably only last for a few short months.

10. Continuity:

When a network provider is able to offer ongoing customer service, new product supply and generally display growth then you can take heart that this network or program is a professional setup that will have your interests covered. Commissions offered may not be anywhere near as high as some of the less scrupulous vendors but by using a professional you will be building a long-term business.

It’s imperative that you make yourself aware of the type of network or program that you are joining. The bottom line is that it is your reputation and authority as an affiliate marketer that is at stake.
